I can’t believe that in five days I’ll be running another 26.2 mile race! I have been studying for a statistics midterm that I have this evening so I haven’t had too much time to think about it in the past few days. I am so excited! Based on my pace time, I will probably run the marathon in about 5 hours. This is not necessarily my best time but I am going to push hard to make it in 5 hours or under. The love and support I have received from my friends and family throughout this journey has been amazing. I want to take this moment to thank these people, individually.
My Mom, for always cooking me healthy meals so that it makes everything a lot easier, for the nights she has sat in the hospital with me, for flying out to England when I had my health scare, for refusing to let me sulk. My Dad, for continuing to be my coach in every aspect of my life. Mere, Ray, Nate & Britt for being siblings I am proud of and that I look up to. My brother Jon, for being there during all the highs and lows of my diagnosis, my training, and during many other important stages of my life. For Jill, for telling I am someone she looks up to. For Cait, for her constant help with my website, training, and counseling. For all of my friends- especially Megan, JT, Ryan, Laren, Jessie and Kyle. To my Aunt Shelly, who constantly sends me love and support. To my Uncle Frank, who is always telling everyone about me and my racing :) Grandma Cook, for showing me how strong a woman can truly be and how young at heart she can always remain. To Adelaide for being the most loyal friend I’ve ever known.
To everyone who donated to the Lakewood Hospital Donation and have supported the cause!
You have all made a huge impact on my life, and I am so fortunate to have you all by my side.
